I have a Cobra Sidewinder, it's several years old. I was looking at somebody's bow at the range with a new Sidewinder, and his pins were a lot brighter than mine.
I took at close look at the fiberoptics, and the piece that is in the metal pin had developed lots of little cracks on the sides. I cut them off with a pair of diagonal pliers, carefully pulled out more fiber optic material with a pair of needle nose pliers, threaded it through the little bracket holes, and the carefully heated the ends from about 1/2 inch away with a cigarette lighter to just round the ends into a button enough so they do not pull out.
It made an amazing difference, my pins are many times brighter than they were. I assume it works for any sight that there is extra fiberoptic material, if not I assume you can purchase a couple feet cheap online and replace it.
D-I-Y.
