Remington 700 7MM rem/280 rem
Manufactured June 1987
22" barrel
Factory camo
Came with a Varix-2 3-9X40 Leupold scope in "shinny black"
$400 OTD
IMO I'll give it a 9.BR549 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Heck it's 30 years old & looks like it's never been shot!
There was a little res-E-doo in the barrel and has a exterior scratches.
It cleaned up real good with little to no effort.
Since I'm too dumb & low tech to post a picture you'll have to use your imagination.

Used cynergy o/u. Been on a quest to find an over under for a few years. Tried to settle on a cheaper model here and there, opened the budget up some and went in to look at higher priced options. Wasnít a huge cynergy fan based on looks alone online, but I couldnít pass on it once i held it. Didnít hurt that Iíll still be under $1k after ordering a few more chokes for it.

I picked up my Colt Combat Commander as my E8 promotion gift. Always wanted a Colt, and this one will be perfect. Uncle Sam has my famil and I headed to Billings, MT to take over my first company. Itís a big recruiting company, covering over 100k square miles in MT and WY. Time to get a couple bucket list hunts in, kick some butt, and get my next assignment back in TX to retire, unless I get selected for E9. Either way, Iíll take a pic in front of the Absoroka County sign for the Longmire fans out there. Thatís in my area too.

Got my Sharps Rifle Co. 25-45 Sharps upper in today. Already have 50 rounds loaded with Sierra GameKing HP 90 gr. and 3 different powders and 3 different powder charges to start narrowing down my best powder. In 70 to 100 grain bullets, gets about the same velocity and energy as 6.5 Grendel out of a shorter barrel. The Grendel can shoot a longer heavier bullet (at low velocities) because of the long necked short fat body case. The 25-45 is a reloader's dream--just run .223 or 5.56 into the sizing die, and you have 25-45. Use regular mags, and just mark them to keep them separate.

Default What gun did you buy today?

Our son lives in Montana. Your next gun should be a Redhawk in .454 Casul. Bear spray is a myth started by the tree huggers to get hunters killed. Iím looking for the Alaskan (snub nose) for when we retire there. He describes a small griz as the size of a VW bug, a large one a VW bus.

YESTERDAY
TRADE: I got a Colt Match Target HBAR, a Marlin 60 & $2800. He got (5) Super nice Mosin Nagants 91-30s, (2) nice SKSs, 5660 rounds of 7.62X54R Plus all the Nagant stuff that used to come with all 91-30 back in the good old days. Didn't cost me anything extra.
Today
Turned right around & paid $200 for a super nice "modernized/sporterized Nagant 91-30. It had $500+ worth of professionally done upgrades. Timmney trigger, bent bolt, synthetic stock, Crazy Ivan scope mount, N/A cheap Bushnell scope, ceramic coating, beaded, floated, shimmed and pillared he even change out all the slotted bolts with allen heads.
This Nagant was done RIGHT! $200.00 it was a no brainer.

Thanks for the tip Bill. Iím a Smith fan, so my M69 with 300gr GCFP lead rounds at 1050fps will have to do for now. Iím just looking forward to getting the third bird towards my Grand Slam, and the number 2 and 3 bucket list hunts accomplished at resident prices (pronghorn and mountain lion).

Nothing super exciting. Just took advantage of the Savage rebates this holiday season. Been looking for an economical 22-250 for a few months. Savage Axis in 22-250 for $206 after rebate was too good to pass up. Just finished up a trigger job and installing the base and rings. Now looking for glass. Probably stick with Vortex. Hope it shoots like other owners claim.

Picked up my new squirrel gun, itís a UTAS XTR-12. Added a Romeo red dot for the quick moving critters and a Juliet magnifier for when they are in the tree tops. I plan to get out and shoot it with in the next week. May do a few videos, if I do, I will try to add them on a separate tread.

I picked up an 870 vintage 1954 and an M1-A from an estate. The barrel on the 870 had been sawed off but I happened to have 2 extras. I have wanted an M1-A since my time shooting in High Power Matches.

Why not shoulder it? ATF ruling recently reversed their previous ruling and said it was ok to shoulder. It cannot, however be modified in any way, but it is ok to shoulder an unmodified brace.

Will be picking up a S&W 629 Classic with a 5 in full lug barrel in February. That will be my first gun purchase for this year.

I've got the High Wall in 7 mag and it's a shooter. I'm still searching for one in 6.5 X 55.
