    trail cam tips

having problems with my cams. im getting hundreds of pics but the lot of them are of nothing but the wind. any advise.

If the camera's sensitivity is set to high, change it to normal. Make sure the camera is mounted to something solid and not a skinny tree or anything that can move when the wind blows. Cut down all the tall grass, weeds, and brush in front of the camera that could trigger it when the wind blows.

Another general tip that doesn't have anything to do with wind pictures.....Mount the camera so that it is facing north. You won't get any silhouetted shots when the sun is rising or setting and in view of the camera's lens.

try cutting branches and grass that can set off the camera, and turn down the sensativity. good luck

For sure face north if you can. won't get the white out from the sun. Ditto for mounting on a larger tree or t-post. Be surprised how much the wind blowing can trigger 100's of pics. Grass/weeds blowing are no fun to look at.
