I usually have good luck in the evenings near areas that have a lot vegetation. I have had even better luck after it rains they tend to feed even shallower water. Once I scored 15 carp in about 2 hrs after a rain in water knee deep.but always had better results in the evenings for some reason , dont now if that is actually a better time or just my luck. All of this off the bank. Be sure to check with game Warden it first because here locally they did not have a rule for it ,be since its their lake they can amend the rules , reason because I basically told I couldnt bow fish no more at a local lake after I have done for years and I had received at permission, they basically changed the rules later and I had to stop. good luck Paul -
