Hey Guys, I live by Decatur up by the dfw area and I was thinking about hunting the grasslands around Decatur this year for deer. In the past, I've hunted these lands a lot chasing ducks and did pretty well sometimes. Anyway, I was wondering if you could use a pop up blind in these grasslands. Can you? I got an ameristep pop up last year for christmas and I love it. I've been reading a bunch of threads on here and everyone seems to be using ladder stands or climbers. I currently do not own a ladder stand or a climber right now, so I was just making sure I could use it.

Yes you can use a pop up blind. I'll be hunting out there some this year as well. If I'm not using a loc-on tree stand, I usually just take a stool and find a place to set. I killed a buck on public land in Iowa by sitting on the ground leaning back against a tree - I forgot to take my stool that time.

x2 on the pop up. I believe their rules are nothing "permanent" or stationary for more than 48 hrs.
