We are paying off some stuff trying to get free and once that’s done I’d love to start off with 10-15% the first year (not including 401k) and work up!

We save roughly 50% +- and have zero debt. Life is a whole lots less stressful

Great wife, but we did not save any of our income that we were paid. Our retirement was with retirement income from company matched 401K and such but we are set for good retirement with guaranteed income, a little TRS, SS and some remaining 401k from my wife. We got lucky and made a bunch with Mutual Funds over the years with a small investment.
