9mm Concealed Carry Ammo Suggestions

I just got a 9mm for my concealed carry. What brand/type of rounds does the GS recommend? Thanks in advance

This is the "gold standard"^^^^^, something Lungbustr and I actually agree on. Right behind it is Federal HST 147 grain. Low muzzle flash and terminal ballistics vs the gold dot is negligible. In some mediums the GD performs better and in other mediums the HST performs better but overall the GD is a better round. Multiple police agencies with many shootings under their belts use GD's with impressive results, including NYPD and IIRC the Illinois State Police. The GD's shoot much better in my Glock 17 than the HST's and we can carry either/or at my agency. Last year they started issuing the HST's.

I think it really depends on which gun you have. Some small concealable handguns do not recommend using +P ammo and say it will void the warranty so double check that.

True. Speer Gold Dot also offers the GD in a 124 grain offering in a normal load that isn't +P.

Several manufactures of ammo make what they call..... Defensive ammo.

Depends on the weapon. Make sure it can handle the load.

I settled on Gold Dot 124+P.

What is your barrel length?
