My oldest insists on helping slice the heart and prepare for cooking.

He ate most of it himself.

I need some new ideas. A good marinade to soak in for a day or two.

No need to marinade it for that long. It soaks up everything it needs in an hour or two at most.

But why cover up that awesome flavor in the first place??

Good question on the marinade. I figured it needed it

I've stuffed the heart with spinach & cheese before, but I usually just pan fry it for some tacos.

Just cooked a heart for the first time. Sliced it thin, coated it in flour and ragin blaze, and fried it up in some butter. Then made a gravy from the remnants in the skillet. Pretty dang good!

The only bad part is I usually quarter my deer out using the gutless method and now I'll have to start yanking those out. Well worth it though!

Hearts are an organ not made for human consumption LOL!
