Curious what you make of Sharp's recent statement that he hopes to have A&M at 80,000 undergrad students by 2025?

And my grandkids probably still wont be accepted out of high school.

Was that out of College Station alone or the entire TAMU system?

Not sure I follow. Obviously you would have increased revenue from tuition, but the State legislature has proven time and again they will not grant a proportionate increase in State funds so it would seem that a huge portion of that increase in tuition money would go right out the door to pay for additional profs, no?

If not, class sizes per professor are going to go WAY up.

Glad I have my degree already. This will just make an A&M degree less valuable, from a BMW to a ford focus.

It's good for average high school students. It'll be easier to get in for them. It will eventually lead to my degree and many others being less desirable by employers. By then I'll have worked for long enough that it won't matter though. Not a fan of sharps. I don't think it will happen though. Young is gonna focus on research. Research and higher enrollment are typically adverse.

The town won't support that many students...

Developers are foaming at the mouth to expand the town to the South and West. Turn old cotton farms to apartments, inexpensive single family homes, and cookie cutter retail centers.

Houston already sprawls past Hockley. Its only a matter of time before Houston and College Station blend together in some massive metroplex. If growth continues over the next 10 years like it already has then this inst hard to imagine.

                            Not a fan.

                            Not even a little bit.

                              Got a link?

I can't find any statements that he made like this on the interwebs. The only thing I found was that he wanted to expand the engineering school to 25,000 by 2025.
