How accurate

is the PH meter that has the metal probe and you stick in the ground to check PH level? I had bought one at Cabelas a month ago and yesterday checked a small place I plowed last week. The PH was right between 7 and 8.

I have checked around my yard and flower beds, and know the needle moves from one place to another, just curious about accuracy.

AND I know, some people will suggest sending soil sample off.....
