Varmint rack

So my son decided he wanted to get serious about varmint hunting. He decided a high rack would be an asset so this is what we came up with. He did all the welding. I only supervised and was the designated gopher.... turned out pretty good. Now to put it to use this weekend...

Yes. He wanted the burned camo look so he burned it then put two coats of sealer on it....

2 things i would add... carpet on inside to help keep things quiet. And some kind of padding on rail to pad the rest

We already added pipe insulation all the way around for a rest and a storage box. Once we mount chairs we will probably put down a rubber mat. Any other suggestions?

I think I'd look at possibly a shelf or two for things like glass, ammo, calls and lights. You may also think about power for a light, be it hard wired from the truck or mounting a 12VDC deep cycle battery in the back somewhere. Then wire power outlets for lights and phones.

There's a predator show which I can't recall the name where they have a huge LED light system mounted on a tripod in the middle of the rack. One guy runs the lights and calls while one or two hunt.

Don't let me get started or this rig will weigh 3 tons when I'm done...

We wired a 12 volt plug into a trailer light plug so it is easy to connect and disconnect.
