    Age on this S. Texas Buck



    I go back and forth, is he past prime, or 4-5 years old?
    This is post rut. No pre rut pictures.
    On this place, I've shot a fair big of 5yr and older. And non of them had the old look to them, but their teeth told a different story.

    And just for fun, I'd say this is a 2-3 yr old deer, with great potential.

                Top buck is in the 3-4 yr old age class and does not have enough neck muscling even post rut to be any older IMO. I agree with your guess on the second buck.

                        I'd put the 1st one at 5 1/2 and the 2nd at 3 1/2 but he could be younger. He's definitely one you wanna keep around.
