Poll: Wide or Tall?

I've got these 2 young bucks on camera. The wide 9 is a 4.5 year old and the tall framey 8 is a 3.5 year old. Can't wait to see what they do next year, considering the inches they put on this past year but in the mean time....

Wondering which one revs your engine: the wide 9 or the tall 8?

I'm more of a fan of wide deer but usually just depends on the character.

I like them tall, spread is overrated. The tall ones tend to score higher too.

I'm partial to the 3 year old myself. I like a wide deer but I think that tall buck is going to be insane between the frame & his brow tines when he's 5. That wide deer will just be nice.

Agreed that buck is incredible. But these are pure native. Guess you can see why we brought in genetics! These deer are nice but will never be 140" deer no matter how old they get.

Inside spread is the lowest percentage of score averaging around 10% via Boone and Crockett and every other record book. Mass is generally 20% which is 2X width. Wide does and never had impressed me at all anyway. It's a measurement of air. I like horn.
