Default Stic knives issues

I hate to bash them but I am done buying them( I have about 10) I bought one in May for a buddies bday gift and still havenít received it. I was told it shipped on 6/22 and still nothing. It sucks that he canít get it together because he makes a good product but this isnít the 1st time it took forever to get it.

You arenít the first one to deal with this or start a thread about it. I like his knives, but my past history with him and timely shipping/receiving has been very sub par. I finally decided to give it another shot after a couple of years and bought one last month. Mine also says shipped on 6/22 but nothing for tracking. Iím giving Frank the benefit of the doubt on this one and I hope itís not the same song third verse.

Hate to say this but I had the same experience the first time I ordered from him. The tracking number I was given was for a different address and my knife was not delivered in a timely fashion. Feather burner has been wonderful with shipping and processing time

Again? Why does TBH still allow this guy to sell on here?
This is the umpteenth thread with the same scenario.
He'll come on here, apologize again, probably say somebody got sick again, then all is forgotten again.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

What he does is gets a tracking shipment number but doesn’t actually send it so it stays in limbo for ever.
Had the same experience.

I bought one direct from them. That was enough problems for me. Have bought a coupla other Stics from individuals with no problems.

Well I figured it was a fluke but it took two and a half months to get mine.

Wrong postage...

Return address issues...

Maybe itís a pattern.

A lot of sporting goods and hardware stores sell knives if you need one in a hurry..
I guess I don't get the urgency/impatience over a custom knife unless you just don't own a knife..

I had 30+ at one time. Received all and was happy with them. Purchased them more as a collection to not be used more than anything. I did use one as an EDC and could never get an edge on it again. Ended up selling every last one that I had. I still look at a few and will buy one again eventually but just waiting for the right one to pop up. As far as time I did have a couple similar issues and Frank always PMd me back.

When I first got on here they sold within seconds of being listed. Lately I have seen the listing last all day. I noticed he started closing threads immediately after listing and saying if interested PM him.

Not the first time for one of these threads. Most likely be deleted like all the others.

What’s the appeal of a Stic? I’ve never thought they were nice looking. Do they hold a great edge or what? Seeing them sell right when posted has always been a head scratcher for me

For you guys defending him or saying why such a hurry...itís more about the fact that he said it was shipped and it obviously wasnít....I would be fine with an email saying itís going to be a month or 2 but this is the second time I have ordered a knife from him that I was told ďit shippedĒ when it hadnít.

The one I used didn't hold an edge.

Tx Chicken I'm with you. Don't tell me something has shipped when it hasn't.

Anyone orders anything online and they get an update saying an item has shipped they expect it within a week at most. By 2 wks I guarantee they will be sending an email or checking their tracking number.

I've got a cleaver pending & I've been through this before as well, but not one to get all bent out of shape. Not like I'm without blades...Frank has always come through & he's never told me something shipped that hasn't. I just wait for the tracking #.

Hell, I forgot about the cleaver till I saw the thread.

Iíve had the same issue, but he eventually made it right on my end that satisfied me completely. When I finally got the knife, it was the wrong one. So then I had to wait again on the correct one. He and his wife were very responsive and helpful in the situation, but it never should have gotten to that point in the first place. I told him he should quit using USPS and use UPS Or FedEx for shipping to eliminate all these problems.

I always assumed that the knife in the listing picture is the knife you would get? Build first then sell?

That is the knife you get.

You choose specs on the sheath and his wife makes them. Once that is complete then they ship.

So it's USPS fault that a label was created but item never received at any of their locations? It's simple to create a label but the seller has to drop item off in order to proceed with tracking. I have always used USPS and only issue I have ever had in 15+ years is a package being damaged. A week later I received insurance check. USPS is not the reason these guys haven't received their knife.

Frank made me 4 very sentimental knives about 5 years back. The handles were made from a whitetail buck my grandfather killed (passed away in 2008). They were absolutely beautiful. I gave one to my dad, and one each to my 2 boys. I kept one and lost the **** thing the following hunting season when I left it on the bumper of my truck!

Carry on.

I've had the same story with an axe I bought from him a couple of months ago.

I toss it up to dealing with an artisan. Those guys don't always have the best business or customer service skills.

That said, there are some true masters on this site that have the "total package." I've bought from several.

USPS ships millions of pieces of parcel every day. Sure, they mess some up but nowhere near the rate this one individual does. 2-3 out of 20 are wrong. No way that's USPS fault.

I guess I donít see the appeal of these knives. They are neat looking for sure but there are other knife makers on this site that make a product that is far superior and without the problems that always seem to surround the stic knives. Itís odd how folks will put up with terrible customer service with some people/companies but absolutely blast others for the exact same scenario.

I have never bought a stic on here but have bought a few skinners and fillet knives from feather burner and a jank knife also. Always paid and had my product in less than a week. How can a knife that pics are posted of that is completed, take 4 months or longer to ship?
