Default Whataburger Sold

BDT Capital Partners, LLC, a merchant bank that advises and invests in family and founder-led companies, has agreed to acquire through its affiliated funds a majority interest in Whataburger.
Here is a Link to the story.
https://stories.whataburger.com/what...or-the-future/

Hope no major changes to the brand a Texas Original.

This was in the making for years with the franchise feud
https://www.texasmonthly.com/the-culture/whatabattle/

The Alice based franchises were always much better then the San Antonio even when they were separated by just a few miles apart

My wife will be devastated as she is a whataburger feud

The one off 281 is about the only Whataburger I eat at. It's real convenient when I'm feeling lazy during deer season

Lol. Already
The bad thing about those investment groups is nothing more than increasing profits & increasing value of sell. Hope they don’t try & get cheap on quality of food supply at same price. We shall see

Schlitterbahn, now Whataburger. I guess the legislature will sell the Alamo to George Soros next. Shiner would be a great beer division for a California vineyard.

Sure thing just like my two favorite local brews PEARL and LONESTAR

I can’t wait for a whata rib samwhich and them to carry PEPSI instead of Dr Pepper
And iced tea out of a plastic bag instead of fresh brewed

I was a long time Whataburger lover but over the more recent years there are much better burgers. P Terry's and Hat Creek to name a few.

As the long as the new owners can understand "Meat and cheese only", I will be happy. The previous owners have not made that a priority...to my frustration.

They'll probably do something stupid like stop putting mustard and onions on their burgers. Then they'll change the recipe of the spicy ketchup.

Whataburger has been going down hill for decades. Crappy food, high prices. Hard pass for me. If Paper thin patty, cold fries and slow service is your thing. Have at it

Used to love it when I was younger but so many better burger places.

Agreed. We have found better burger places around.

A little place right across the street form our local WB is awesome. Wife and I split a real 1/2 lb burger and sweet tater fries and still cant eat the whole thing. Fresher is betterer.

Oh, and WB sweet tea is krap.

If you have ever had DQ outside of Texas you will know the difference.
Go to Minnesota and ask for a Hungerbuster...... And let me know how that works for ya

If you look at the cups and licensing of DQ inside the state it states "DQ corp of Texas"

Oh and congrats to the Dobson family. As with most things in life, things change. Honestly surprised they have kept it a family owned business for so long. It is a tough thing to do
