I agree with the cheesyness of the new episode. I will see if it gets any better next week. I will admit I was expecting the show to be much better based on all the good reviews at the beginning of this thread.

Ole boy being cut open like a slab of meat was so dumb. The bar scene was dumb. The chick with the T-post through her chest, and she just walked it off.

It better get realistic quick.

There were some cheesy parts in season 1, but season 2 episode 1 took the cake. I hope it gets better too.

Well I’m half way through season 1.
Watched the first two episodes last year then fell off and about 3-4 episodes in from the last few days.

Some of this acting, writing, one liners, etc are pretty awful.
Will continue to watch and see if it gets any better

Just wait. It only goes down hill. I have to admit I'm sad this show took a turn for worse. Taylor Sheridan is a great writer/director, his films include Sicario, Wind River and Hell or High Water.

Thought it was strange a big cattle ranch with majority Angus cow/calf operation would have a random Mexican fighting bull. What purpose would that serve for everyday ranching lol?

The Xray to see a soft tissue tumor also seemed a little odd but maybe that's a thing.

What a load of crap. Costner split stem to stern with just local anesthetic and he flies off in that helocopter acting like it was no big deal.

Don’t forget he was bucking out a horse two days after getting part of his colon removed for recital cancer in season one
They must have the working part of the ranch ( 200,000 acre) someplace else
As I haven’t seen anything remotely close to “work “ getting done ( everyone has nice starchy dress shirts and clean hats) and nice brand new trucks
Where is the snow it’s Montana, or the maid / cook for the house
Or that Indian chef raised as a Mexican but speaking with a faux Indian accent

I just watched the first episode of season two last night. When the cowboy says with great concern in his face, "horses might get gored". and a bunch of slick head angus mulies come running out.LMAO Reminded from a time as teenager when I went into some thick south Texas brush country with some old vaqueros to bring out some cattle that hadn't seen a human in years. I came out of there scratched up like I'd been in a fight with a wildcat. Which ensued some ribbing from the older vaqueros. Did see a horse get gored in the hind quarter and a young heifer break a leg. But we did have some good beef cooked over an open mesquite fire that night.

Season two episode two was sure better than episode one. Of course that's not saying much. Sucks we have to wait two weeks for episode three.

I like the show and appreciate it for what it is, drama. The scenery is good. To think that it should be 100% accurate on every detail isn't going to happen.

Episode two did back off on the goofy stuff a little. I still predict the Indians will jump a horse off a cliff and take out the helicopter before the season is over.

Yall are a tough critical crowd. We like it. But it is Hollywood and I know it's not real. But definitely entertaining. I personally love the one liners.

I enjoy the series but you can see Hollywood trying to slip politics in as usual - had to show 2 gay guys in bed, and Kayce’s indian wife goes to teach at a college and slams the white people for stealing the land for the indians.

Red. She doesn't try to hide her crazy so you know what you're getting. Plus there's plenty of upside. I feel like Indian gal would always be trying to lay the white guilt on me and you know the cowgirl has some issues hidden deep down.
