His 9.98 will go down unofficial because of the wind. I believe I read that it was 4+ mph tailwind. Anything over 2 mph does not count. The little bit of wind definitely helps.

Not to take away anything from the kid. 10.2 is phenomenal for a HS time. Can't wait to see what he runs when gets to Georgia and then when he turns pro.

I don't believe Bolt's record will be broken for a very very long time, if ever.

Some are calling into question his previous ten 100m race times and this one

Seems he made too big of a leap and folks are digging deeper

Including all wind aided times, he is number 2 in the world right now.

His official time of 10.22 puts him at 41st in the world and 12th in the US.

Fastest person in US is a student at Texas Tech, Divine Oduduru, a Nigerian, who ran a 9.95 100m.

My wife went to school with him, which is the only reason I have heard of him.

I was just raised not to acknowledge skin color, creed, race or anything else when evaluating a persons achievements.

IMHO the talk should be of his time...not his skin color, but I know in today’s climate many folks just can’t get past that...

The young man is fast...that should be enough in my opinion...but I forgot what this crowd was...carry on.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with acknowledging the indisputable fact that it is unusual to have a champion sprinter that is Caucasian. Did we ignore the fact that Muggsy Bouges played in the NBA at 5’3” ? Variances from the norm always get extra attention

He's not getting screwed. That's just the way it works in T&F. Happens to all sprinters. Anything over 2 mph tail wind does not count. He was over 4 mph. That little bit helps tremendously. He probably ran 0.2 or 0.3 seconds faster because of it.

That's also why they have an all conditions record - which he has at the moment.

Fastest All Condition time in the history of HS track.

My Ex-BIL got talked into a foot race by some guys in our shop once. These guys were bragging about how fast they were and how they had high school and collegiate track records. My BIL lined up in boots with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and beat those guy about like the one in that video did. They tried to talk him into going to see a Olympic coach but he didn't want to stop drinking and smoking to train for the Olympic trials.

Me and a buddy were drinking in his garage one night and ended up in a foot race in his alley. He got to do the countdown and got the jump on me, as we were nearing the finish line I knew I couldn't win so I tried to trip him, and missed. I didn't know how bad it was until my wife was yelling at me the next morning asking me why there was blood all over the sheets. Seems that my knees and elbows took a beating, as well as my best pair of blue jeans.

Moral of the story.... Always be the one that gets to do the countdown.

I was raised to use descriptors. You know...That Burnadell is an OLD guy....That Mayhem is a SKINNY who should stay off ladders....That Mary is a FEMALE bowhunter....That Pushbutton2 is a LITERARY GENIUS.....That Death from Above comes up with some STUPID ****. When I do so, it helps people to better understand what or who I am describing. This sprinter was indeed WHITE. Landrover is BLACK. Louisgarcia is .....wait for it.....HISPANIC. Cajun Blake is a COONA55. Your being offended will never change any of that. Me? Well, I'm just a fat, American White guy who loves most people.....but not you.

Put your victim card back in your purse. You didn't quote anyone, but what you said was so ridiculous it deserved all the quotes!

"I was just raised not to acknowledge skin color, creed, race or anything else when evaluating a persons achievements."

Who raised you to pretend we are all identical? We are not! Thank God we are not. He made us all different for a reason. Bury your head in the sand if you want to pretend there is no difference between people if you want, but that doesn't make you any better than the rest of us.

You still didn't answer post 69

Who raised you to pretend we are all identical? We are not! Thank God we are not. He made us all different for a reason. Bury your head in the sand if you want to pretend there is no difference between people if you want, but that doesn't make you any better than the rest of us.

You still didn't answer post 69

You are so off base it ainít even funny.

I was raised by a couple from the greatest generation. Never said a thing about being identical...no difference in people? ...nope never said that either. But I do think there is a difference in peoples ability to comprehend.

My post was to reference a raising that demanded accountability based on merit/achievement alone.

I think the kid is a wonderful athlete with an amazing speed...I donít think his skin color should have any bearing in the description of that.

I am also ok that others donít think that away.

To level a claim that I have inferred that I am better than anyone ...is just plain stupid. No matter what color you are.
