How do these bigger trucks perform off-road? I know they are heavier but will they go through mud and can they handle steep rocky terrain? I currently drive an F150 but now own a Kubota L3301 with 5' mower. I won't be hauling it much but when I do have to haul it, it weighs down that F150.

I've been through lots of mud in mine and it has treated me well. My prior truck was a F150 and lets just say I'll probably never own another. I'm running toyo mts on my F250. I personally haven't been through any steep rocky terrain in mine.

I'm going pick our out on Friday. Found a few good deals on some different models. Does anybody have any complaints about the new '17 models yet? They have been out a little while now and any glaring defects should be made known by now. Any recurring issues? I always get extended BTB warranty for peace of mind, but was just curious.

Thanks

If you're getting a Crew Cab short bed then be sure it has the 34 gal tank. A lot of them came with only a 26 gal fuel tank even though they should have had a 34. The dealer will replace it for you under recall, but not without you bringing it to their attention.

Mud is ALL about the tires... Toyo MT's rock but probably don't wear as well on an F250 as they do on my Jeep. With the stock tires on our F250, there's no going through mud. They're terrible.

Steep rocky terrain.... I dont know... That's what I have a Jeep for!

Just went about 2k ft up a rock and dirt gravel road last week on my stock f250. Tires held up great. I was in 4wd the whole time. Everywhere I went in the unit with my truck there were large rocks in the road. I was worried, but those tires did great. Wouldn't try them in the mud though. Wouldn't try a 3/4 ton diesel in any mud unless I had to, though.

Well, I got caught in a bad hail storm. Got damage on hood, and whole passenger side. I actually held up better then every other non-aluminum truck in the parking lot.

Chipped paint on a couple. Wonder how long this will take to fix...?

one in particular that's here in Kerrville at the dealership. Lifted, big tires, bull-nose bumper/grill, FX4 package. I just can't see dropping 73K on a vehicle.

Slick looking!

Any cheap, block kit will get you 3". Don't over spend on a leveling kit. There are some overpriced, name brand kits, but they're pretty much all the same.

I know you're looking for a 250, but if you're going diesel then seriously consider a 350. The payload capacity of a 250 longbed diesel was less than my half ton crew cab I have. 1900 lbs on the 250, vs 1950ish on my half ton. The gas motor weighs substantially less, so the payload capacity is closer to 3k lbs. I went long bed 350, and don't tow very heavy trailers, but I max out my payload between gear, trailer, and passengers pretty easy.

Oh also the ride on the 350 is as good as the 250, and both are far more comfortable of ride than my 15' 1500 Chevy.

Picked up our new sled yesterday. Found a great deal on the STX with the 6.7 stroke FX4. Wife got the color she wanted and we finally got rid of that 3/4 ton gasser. Really impressed with it so far.
Came with the camper package, preferred group package, and stx appearance package. Has everything we needed.

Good looking truck BRust. Mine is set up just like it, only a different color. I absolutely love this truck so far. I do wish I had the LED headlights but they aren't worth the $$$$ to me. I'll post up a pic on mine later.

yes I leveled mine using the 2.5" ready lift with the trac bar relocation kit. Make sure you don't just buy the spacers alone of you will have quality issues, get the entire kit. Back sits about 3/4" higher but looks level. Ride was not changed at all, paid $650 out the door installed at B&C offroad in Pasadena, Tx. I have not put tires on it yet. I also removed the chrome running boards and replaced with amp research power running boards. If you want pics I can text some. 281-455-zero211

Default Spray in Bed Liners

Yes sir, question for the Houston guys in I45 to 290 area. Didn't get a spray in bed liner due to the type the dealership was using. The type is very slick and stuff slides all over the place. Does anyone know of a bed liner place in the area with the attached type? This was in my 2011 F250 and nothing slide on this thing. Thanks for any help.

I was over in Georgia last week and went into a Ford dealership to have my oil changed. On their showroom floor they had a F150 Shelby GT. 750 horsepower.

Beautiful truck with a huge price tag. $101,000.

Needless to say I didn't buy it, but I did like the looks of it.

Sorry just seeing this. It's a well known issue if you search any of the 17 forums. I just had a buddy get his replaced on his 17 250 Crew Short bed. Luckily I have the crew long bed, so I have the 48 gal tank that didn't have these issues.

Need some advice, wanting to level or up to 4" lift. Prices are all over the place!

My demands are ride quality is a must.

I am running 33s now and might go 35s later on.

Looking hard at ICON, but dang $$$$. Is it worth it? Im leery of cheap 400.00 level as well.

What have you done and whats the ride like guys?

IF you can swing the money, go Carli Suspension or Icon. Big 2.5" shocks with street-tuned valving will be totally worth that price tag. I run a full 6" Carli system on my '09 Megacab and it rides like a plush Cadillac.

Sorry just seeing this. It's a well known issue if you search any of the 17 forums. I just had a buddy get his replaced on his 17 250 Crew Short bed. Luckily I have the crew long bed, so I have the 48 gal tank that didn't have these issues.

Just stopped by my dealer and they said they haven't heard anything.

Have any more info on that?

Guess I need to see which one mine has.
