If you listen to most "Libertarians" closely you will soon realize they are just liberals.

Heck even Xbowhunter who calls himself a libertarian (you know, the party that is supposed to be skeptical of government, believe in individualism and free markets), was defending socialism in the Pope thread.

No, Most Libertarians are very fiscally conservative and socially either liberal or don't particularly care, as long as it's Constitutional.

Problem is, most in the GOP today care as little for the COTUS as the DemocRATS do. Either that or they are ignorant of the COTUS.

Better yet why in the world is Social Issues such a major factor in Politics nowadays?

I don't understand why they're such a important factor compared to things like the economy, terrorism, debt, etc.

Not directing that towards you by any means, just in general as I have tons of friends that put social issues at the top (assuming its just a younger generation thing) which IMO is incorrect but maybe I'm wrong...

Actually a libertarian thinks it's none of your or the government's ****ing business what someone else smokes or does to their body as long as it isn't hurting someone else. At least as far as drugs go. Abortion is obviously more complicated.
