Feeder funnel help

Mking my own 55 gallon drum feeders and having difficultly getting the 55 gal, galvanized funnel to fit evenly into the barrel. Any tips or tricks? Thanks for the help.

It's a pain lining the holes up. Use a broom
Handle to nudge it down gently.

Once I get it lined up I drive 3 or 4 self-tapping screws through the funnel into the barrel from the inside - sucks it up for a tight fit

Funnel on the inside or outside? If inside I just installed 2. FIL has a 5# weight bolted to the end of a piece of pipe. Pipe ID is threaded on one end, big bolt and washer. Tap it down trying to keep it aligned as much as possible. No drum is perfectly round. When it hangs up, and it will, smash the weight into the center of the funnel till it gets past the dent.

Here's a link on how to make a cone. I made one for a smaller size barrel and it was dead on. Good luck.
