    LIVE: Hump Day - Ruck-N-Cast

Decided to take a vacation day and put some of my recently earned fitness to the test. From dawn to dusk today, I am going to be rucking around The Woodlands with a 20+ pound pack and my fly rod. The plan is for a 23+ mile loop, passing 14 different fishing ponds.

I will keep this thread updated as I go with pics, etc. Lets see if I can make it and how many fish I can catch along the way. There is a 40% chance of scattered storms today.

Headed out the door to make the drive to my starting point by day break.

Best of luck, and 23 miles and fishing? Be safe out there.

Have fun. I'm curious to see how much actual fishing time you get in. Will you average about 4 miles an hour. Do you have a set time on how long you will fish at each pond? It would be hard to leave if you get into the fish. That should be a fun trip. Have a good time and be safe

The plan is already fluid. Parked in a different spot than planned. But I am off now.

At the first pond... the shakedown pond. Gonna get the rod out and setup as there are several in the first stretch.

Thats a great way to spend the day. Catching perch on a fly rod is a blast.

                            Southshore Park... 2 miles in

Doubt I will be here long. Water is choppy.

You going to try out your water purification system? If it purifies that water you should be good in the mountains
