He looks older to me, but y’all know your deer better. I bet he breaks 140”, but not by much.

In these recent pics, I think it's even more obvious that he won't make 140" this year. His beams are LONG, his mass is good, but I think his brows and G4s keep him in check. I'd love to see him in 2 years because I think he's got special potential, but he'll be fair game for everyone next year according to our criteria.

Special potential would be a 2.5 yr old with a rack like that. Based on what he put on from last yr to this yr he won't put on a lot more in the next yr or two. Maybe 10-15" if you're lucky. It's always a guessing game but he didn't add as much as he should have if he was going to "blow up" into a giant next year. Can't hurt to let him walk. If he stays the same, no big deal.

Not sure why but I'm having a hard time seeing beams over 21-22". Great deer but if rules are 140, I'm guessing you'd be off by 6-8"

Low 30s. he has real potential. i would threaten everyone on the lease with being booted off if they shoot him.

For those asking if he might be older, I hear ya. But, if anything, we waffled back in the summer whether this deer might even be a year younger. We tend to have healthy body sizes on our bucks, and they really fill out strong at 4yo. Here are some pics from last year just before the beginning of our first rut. We just couldn't make him older than 3yo last year, because that would be a scrawny 4yo.

I'm almost certain Ive hunted this property and still see many deer pics from it. Glad to see yall make the decision to let this deer walk. In my eyes, he doesn't meet the matrix requirements on age or score.
