2 areas I see UT having some success is throwing some deep passes on a very young but talented db. Y'all have some monster wide outs so I can see LSU getting burnt deep a few times. Also SE up the middle will probably get UT some yards. SE wont get much if anything sideline to sideline but up the gut runs with physical qb's has caused LSU issues in the past. Most recent being Nick Fitzgerald and Dak Prescott both from Miss St who burnt LSU numerous times doing this. Now this LSU D is much better that the teams that played against those qb's but that's 2 areas im most concerned with.

S&P+ likes LSU by 13.8 in a 42-28 game.

Week one rankings are about as useful as last yearís rankingsÖ Yíall can throw old numbers at this thing all day long, both of these teams are different than they have been.

But LSU offense is going to be going faster, adding more plays, less TOP and that naturally means more opportunities for the others team offense. For example the Big 12, itís not the defense are bad itís more a reflection about the number of plays they face.

Thereís a give and take between your offense and your defense when it comes to styles / philosophies. Il

Tom Herman teams are 13-2-1 against the spread and 10-6 straight up as the dog.

It's hard to find data that supports Texas in this one. It may very well be a blowout.

Then again, Herman is 8-2-1 against the spread as an underdog since taking over the Texas program.

I have a hard time seeing a blowout. I hope LSU wins and feel like they could but I feel it will be a close game. I think LSU could win by 10 maybe but that's just me.

Texas will be similar to a Mississippi state/ florida offense that gave LSU some trouble last year. Our defense finally is all Arranda guys and guys who have been brought up in his system though and the athletic quick guys he was wanting. And the linebackers are quick and fly to the ball so Im hoping they can keep Sam honest and contain him and make him beat them in the air. Regardless its gonna be electric Saturday and I cant wait to experience DKR at night.

Cipollina is cool local Italian spot. Laid back and out of the way a little bit, but still not too far from where you'll be staying.

Lots of good story lines. Y'all got orlando bc Dave Aranda told Herman to hire him as he was a can't miss hire, LSU DE Chaisson from North Shore played against SE when he was at westlake for the 6A championship. Not to mention Aranda and Herman know a lot about each other schemes from being friends and coaching against each other in the Big 10.

I take it that Dale hasnít bought a DBU T-shirt.

I will say one thing Horn fans need to consider that I havenít heard mentioned much is Joe Burrowís ability to run. He is a tough SOB and quite effective at picking up the first downs when the pocket breaks down. He frustrates the heck out of defenses with his legs, similar to Sam.

Burrow making 3rd downs into 1st downs would be a huge problem for the Texas defense.

I don't really buy into that stuff, both outfits have turned out top tier talent...doesn't mean much unless you win. Plus, my "DB doesn't stand for deffensive back at lsu" joke fell flat, so whatever.

I've had coopers in llano and some from a place in Gruene before and it was very good but I smoke brisket, ribs, pork steak and chicken every Sunday at my restaurant for plate lunches not to mention in about a month I will be smoking deer sausage at my processing place 2-3 times a week along with all the briskets we smoke for catering for the Holidays . I really dont want to even smell bbq this weekend. May try some brisket tacos but thats about it as far as smoke meats go.

All this talk of tough, running QBs got me thinking... I know Texas is in deep trouble if Sam goes down. Almost no experience behind him. What is the depth behind Burrows if something were to happen to him?

Sophomore Myles Brennan. If Burrow wouldn't have come to LSU he would be the starter. He's 6'4 so say 204 lb. but more like 190. Cannon for an arm but not a really good runner. Throws a great deep ball but needs to improve accuracy in mid range throws. He played nearly the entire 2nd half last week. He should be adequate if Burrow goes down but there will definitely be a drop off in leadership and scrambling ability.

#6 pro style qb in the nation JR (red shirt sophomore) Miles Brennan heís no joe, but a good qb still. Burrow is a tough a competitor there is heíd have to be in half to come out lol

A pocket passer who has impressive arm strength and accuracy ... Has a big arm and can make all of the throws necessary to be a quarterback in the SEC ... Enters third season with the Tigers in 2019 ... Redshirted as a true sophomore in 2018 after appearing in only one contest ... More than capable to be inserted into any game and operate the offense ... Has gotten both bigger and stronger since arriving on campus as one of the most highly sought after recruits for the class of 2017

This is an accurate take on him... heíll be the starter when joe leaves.

I've been told he is part of that family. Believe they own several paper mills also.

Valentino's Tex Mex BBQ for tacos.
