Default Truck Stolen Friday

I have never felt as violated as I did Friday when I exited Patients hospital in Pasadena where I had been watch over my mom who had surgery due to a fall. Yep some scum bag stole my truck and everything in it, including my cancel carry Glock 26. This all happened in broad daylight between 11:55 and 12:55. Just putting it out there. And yes TBH sticker in back glass along with personalized certified Firefighter plates.

My F250 was stolen in 2016. It was gone for ~5 days, then showed up dumped within 30 miles of where it was taken.

The backseat was missing, cigarette butts smashed into the floorboard, door locks and ignition punched in, front suspension beat up, and some dirty clothes in the back. The detectives said it was definitely used to smuggle immigrants across the border and then dumped. The pre-2009 F250 are apparently very easy to steal...

Hope they find yours.

Forgot to mention. My pistol was stolen, too. The cops were much more concerned about scolding me for keeping a pistol in my truck that will "now be used to shoot at him and his brothers" than finding the truck that was taken 5-minutes before. It was a bad day all around.

I have a 2002 F250 7.3 that needs a little paint work and repairs to the drivers seat. Iím reluctant to do the repairs since I know that if it is stolen the insurance payout wonít be any different after the upgrades versus before. Sucks when you canít drive a nice truck for fear of it being stolen.

Look up the most stolen vehicles in the country and those trucks are in the top three.

When I had mine I had two hidden switches that had to be thrown to start/move the truck.

All is not lost. my brother had his stolen a few years back. a few days later he saw his tailgate for sale on craigslist and the police got everything back. the tailgate had a very specific dent that he happen to have some pictures of. his insurance paid several thousand in a claim and had all the fluids changed and inspected from top to bottom.

The Ravelco is a plug that if they don't have the plug they are not driving it away. I put the Ravelco and a Viper on mine and after 3 break-ins (the Ravelco was on the 2002 F250 the day I bought it, I had it installed) so they could not steal it but stole stuff out of it and tried to steal it however they could not drive it away. The Viper Pages you on your phone or the remote say if you were inside a store if they have set it off AND shows if the door is open. Thus they know YOU know they are in it and they don't like that idea so the tend to pick someone else truck instead of yours. Put both the stickers Ravelco and Viper on your drivers side window. They see it they move on. Nothing is for sure but all this helps

I feel your pain. My 2000 F-250 was stolen. Can you say Mexico. Mine was found one month and 5000 miles later. The condition was like the one above.... seats removed, interior totally trashed. Hope you find it soon.

multi-billion dollar industry deterring thieves...dang shame. had my trucks broke into 3x at bird island basin. once in san marcos when I was in college. i got some sort of revenge once back in the late 90's, 1998-1999ish, i caught a pair trying to hotwire my z71 in Austin in the parking lot of an auto zone, allstate insurance, and a gym that i think the name was future firm. one was inside with the steering column broke open trying to rig the wires... i beat the brakes off of him.. when the cops and ambulance arrived they told him, 'looks like you picked the wrong truck to break into'. a month after i got it back from the dealership, i caught another group of teens trying to steal it......well, you can't hit a person running away from your vehicle....i got an assault charge b/c of that...dang shame...…

oh, also had a tractor stolen

That sucks! My F150 was broken into last Friday and they stole my Springfield XD from my locked center console. I was in tractor supply for 5 mins. Security camera showed it took them only 30 seconds. I hate a thief!

Many places don't allow you to carry (restaurants, work, etc.). Some places you aren't dressed to carry (gym, jogging, etc.). And sometimes you just don't want to carry. But I still feel more comfortable having the gun in my truck traveling to those places, at gas stations and in parking lots. I usually just keep a cheap revolver in the truck and bring my Glock when I carry.

He was visiting his mother in a hospital that was probably posted 30.06 & 30.07 and if carrying prior to going, he'd have no other (legal) choice than to leave it in his truck.

Sorry to the OP that the scumbags took your truck!

Funny you mention this. Buddy of mines wife went to the hospital in Baytown to see her Mom. Walked out 30 min later and truck was gone. Police found it AN HOUR AND A HALF later on Genoa RedBluff dropped off by a flatbed.

LE said they buy used tow trucks where they just back up to the truck without getting out, take it to a shop in Baytown and have 15 or so guys breaking it down. Notice what all is missing in the pics. Hood, carpet, etc. I was blown away.

So are they now mainly stealing these F-250 by towing them away ? if so how do you stop that or is it best to just have a GPS tracker on the vehicle ?

Most are driven. Ive seen ravelco defeated many times. Im a lojack fan. I cant count the vehicles I recovered via lojack. The biggest chopshop I was ever in was found via lojack on an f250. One by ipad hidden while the guy ate dinner.

When you drive down the highway look at every 250/350 you see. I bet 8 out of 10 show damage to the driver door lock. The ones without a key hole have already been messed with.

Pretty sorry when a 50,000 dollar truck can be stolen with a butter knife in 20 seconds. Im not sure about the 17 and up. But probably same 49 cent lock.

Either way the bottomline is something is better than nothing

Why does Texas, a pro gun state, even have a law that allows a business to tell you that you are not allowed to carry there? I've worked in several other states and not one of them have anything like Texas' .3006 or .3007

They say that scumbags pop the door locks so I have back door handles on my 2000 f250 and so far no problems. It also might help that my truck is always dirty
