We named our chocolate lab Khalesi and call her Callie. Got it from Game Of Thrones. Character was sexy as hell at first but turned out to be an evil ***** that burned down the whole city...Must be karma because our chocolate lab was cute as a puppy and now is a bit crazy.

I've heard to keep it simple, preferably one syllable names. Definitely no triple syllables. Supposedly this make its easier during training, per the book Water Dog. Its pretty tough going with the one-syllable names, it can be done but I've usually wound up with two-syllable names myself and its fine.

Don't use a name that sounds like a command, sit, stay,... Sam, Sid, Sally etc.
Penny, Tracy, Lady.
My chocolate was Abigail Bright Penny, Abby for short. She had a good life for 14 yrs!

I see it stated above and i agree if you plan on hunting her i like short names you can get out fast. Thats just my personal preference.

With that being said i have a chocolate female and my last name is Clyde so it would of been a crime to not name her Bonnie Ann Clyde.

Labs definitely need the right name. Never had a female, but I've had a Jed and a Sam, and the one I have now is Hank.

Those are my top 3 girl names. Had a lab years ago named Lady. Dixie was going to be my next lab, but never ended up getting her.
