    First time protein feeding

Picked up a small boss buck protein feeder

No DD or L&E available around here so put a bag of antlermax in it

Probably have small bear sized raccoons by the fall

      Where do you get it?

I see you are closer to me than the nearest place I could find L&E

If you have a Tractor Supply close to you they have a Elk and Deer protein feed. Its good stuff

I have no idea what L&E or DD is.

Double Down and Lysse & Eckel, supposed to both be high end feeds

AntlerMax is good. Been feeding it for 10+ years.

I would either put a single bag of corn in the feeder the first time or mix corn/protein 50/50 still putting in a single bag. Training deer to eat out of the feeder that is feeding above the ground can be tough if they have never eaten out of one before. Corn is the fastest way to train them. Start trapping coons right away and you will be ahead the game.
Antlermax is a good feed but call L/E and see where their closest dealer is to you. They are scattered all over the state.

I made the switch from Antlermax to Double Down this weekend as the feedstore in San Diego is now caring it. Plan on putting a cotton seed feeder up this weekend just to see how they do with it.

Good luck to you and start out with corn like previously mentioned.
