Ok rattler is spot on. I've seen some wide heads on 4' rattlesnakes before.;

I'm guessing 5' to 6'.

Thats just blood seeping from the fang punctures. The roos are in a pen built for whitetail. Dog and coyote proof.

That looks like a lot of blood...too much to be a snake bite. It's covering the front paws. The wounds look more like lacerations than puncture wounds. They also look about the same distance apart as that cut fence in the background. I'm far from an expert (rank armature is more like it) but that doesn't look like a snake bite to me.

I would have to agree with this. The swelling could be from the puncture wounds and same goes for the eye.

Well, searched for over an hour and no snake. The roo is doing pretty good. Swelling is down but vet said there is some infectionand may lose the eye.
