    Possum Kindom food plot

Does anyone out there have any food plots that have worked well in the possum kingdom lake area? I turned over some dirt with a box blade last weekend and with the rain in the forecast I wanted to toss some seed out soon. We were thinking winter wheat but I wanted to know if any of yall might know something that will work better. The soil in some areas in ok and some is kinda rocky-ish and sandy. Any advice is appreciated. thanks

Winter wheat heavily fertilized is going to be your best bet-

I'm 20mi NE of PK. After tryin several things Ive settled on buckforage oats the last 6-7 yrs. They are drought tolerant with a lower temp tolerance than reg oats. But the main thing is deer come from miles around to enjoy them.

We have 4 little plots. They are probably about 1/4 acre each.
