Default Big Damascus Knife

This is a solid knife, it's heavy, fits the hand perfectly and made to work. 416 layers of Alabama Damascus Steel 3/16's thick. Made up of 52100, 200 nickel and 15n50. The handle is stabilized tamarind with green fiber liners. I used three 1/8 mosaic pins. The bolster is hammered Copper with green fiber spacer. The OAL is 9 inches, cutting edge is 4 inches. The snake inlay sheath is custom fitted to hold the knife snug. It's solid, you know you have a real knife when you handle this tool. I loved making this one.

Correction; the high carbon is 5160 on 52100.. I use so much 52100 that I automatically wrote that in.

That's some nice work sir!
I've done a couple of the pre finished blade kits for my boys at Christmas time. I played around with different handle material and shapes but I'm afraid if I ever go all in and build the first blade I won't be able to stop.

You ever wanna revisit this size and design, I’d want to be first to know.

Thanks all, I keep a pattern of every knife I make. I'm sure I'll be making more again. I really like the handle design. I'll be putting it on more knives in the future. I've been working on that specific handle design for a few years. I think I've nailed it. Feels really good in the hand.
