Can a deer duck a xbow?

Per say, I took a hit to my man card and broke down and used a Parker Tornado 165# xbow behind the house due to small acreage for the last 4 seasons... allegedly. Can a deer jump that string?

The speed of sound is 1125 feet per second so I am sure there can and will be some movement from the deer before the arrow/bolt reaches it mark.

Why not? They duck a compound. Many compounds are as fast or faster than a xbow. How fast is yours?

I would think not at a reasonable distance. Heck I watch these TV shows all the time where they shoot them. Sound like a dang gun going off!! But I’ve not seen any of the TV deer duck the arrows. Heck they get there in a split second.

Really? Look faster than that. Do you wear ear protection?

Only been using crossbow a few years. Got a few deer. None ducked yet.
I’m about 345iish FPS/430 gr based on advertising and adjust fir increased arrow weight.

I’ve shot 50yrds, but doe was calm and eating. The distance would be the determine factor. I can hear bow, see arrow, hear thud at 50yrds. I’m still estimated pushing 325ish at that distance.

There are quite a few 370 to 410+ FPS crossbows now. Mine is rare 370 with lighter arrow.

The bolt would have to travel faster than sound for them not be able to move before it got there....
