I have been reading up on flint knapping, just because. Here are my very first two points, from bottle glass. Still a lot of room for improvement, but it's a start. Need to find some rocks to play with now.

Bottle glass is some of the cheapest material you can find for Knapping!

You can find a lot of stuff on youtube that might help you out!

Also, there is a lot of good flint south and west of Abilene, so you should have plenty of stone to work with!

Biggs your right you can Knapp toilet tanks. In my experience they are not real good, they step fracture a lot making it hard to get a good looking piece.
Jason if you ever make it through Temple we can bust some rocks together and I might be able to send some rock home with you.

That is what I am thinking. Hard as H---! Works good with fire steel for spark making. Just add a little char cloth and some tinder. Easy fire!
