    Carpet targets

Anyone use carpet for a bow target. If so how many layers do you use to stop repeated arrow abuse?

Layers is kinda tricky. The length of the carpet nap will determine him many layers it takes to get the thickness you want. The depth should be between 11" to 13". At 13" my set up stops arrows from a compound too. I used 44 layers of burber carpet strips cut 32"x13"

4 layers of carpet with a 2x4 gap between each layer. It works great for my long bow and my sons bow but my compound will go thru the first layer.
