Texas ASA Federation Qualifier at Brazos County Archery Club Janaury 24-25

The Texas ASA Federation Tournament Trail will kick off the 2015 3D season at Brazos County Archery Club in Bryan on Jan. 24-25 We are very excited to have Brazos County host the first qualifier for 2015. Brazos County will also be the site of the 2015 Texas ASA state championship.

10:00 am shotgun start on both Saturday and Sunday, You may shoot either day, 30 McKenzie targets, $30.00 entry fee for all adult classes and Young Adult classes, $16.00 for all Youth classes, $5.00 entry fee for all eagle classes. Cash pay backs for all adult classes, non cash awards for young adult and youth classes. Awards will be presented at approximately 4:00 pm on Sunday. ASA and Texas ASA rules apply and will be enforced.

    Some Rules Reminders for 2015

The 14 ring is no longer in play in regular ASA competition at the state or national level. If you hit a 14 ring it will count as 8 points.

The low 12 ring is in play on ALL targets, for ALL classes. A shooter may elect to call the high 12 ring. The group must acknowledge that the shooter has called the high 12 ring. It is the shooters responsibility to make sure the group acknowledges his or her intention to shoot the high 12. The low 12 will be out of play for that shooter on that target. When the next shooter steps to the stake the low 12 is again in play unless this shooter elects to call the high 12 ring.

ASA Pros are welcome to shoot at all qualifiers for fun and practice for $15.00. We will award a Men’s Open Pro, Men's Sr. Pro and Women’s Pro State Championship Gist buckle at the Texas ASA state championship. Pros from any state may compete without qualifying. $30.00 entry fee at state required to compete for state championship buckle.

ASA has added the Senior Known class for 2015.

If you are in a KNOWN distance class or a 1/2 known and 1/2 unknown class you MUST have a range finder. If you do not have a range finder we will assign you to a group that has a range finder.

For a complete schedule, rules, club links and more go to the Texas ASA Federation website at:

Brazos County has a beautiful range that offers a variety of shooting lanes. The terrain, tree canopy, and expert target sets at BCAC will create a challenging 3D event. Don't miss the first shoot of the year at Brazos County !!!

Here is a link to the BCAC website for directions and range information.

    And remember.....

Is this shoot open to everyone, or do you have to be an ASA member, if so what is the fee for ASA?

You can shoot a qualifier without an ASA membership.

You have to have a membership to shoot state.

Only if he does not move his single pin sight. Fixed pins only in hunter and bow novice too I believe.

Y'all have fun! Too far and too soon for us.

                            Updated Entry Form

                            http://www.texasasafederation.com/TA...try%20form.pdf

Please help out by filling this form out online and printing it to bring with you!
Lots of bonuses-including having your ASA number with you (since so many leave it at home) , being able to read and spell your name with ease, and not having to wait to fill out your form so early in the morning!

If you are not sure which class you will be shooting in you can leave that blank, the main things needed are your name and ASA number-address and email !

                            Thanks so much!
