Depending on condition, that wouldn't be a bad deal. I would offer the guy $50 cash. He would probably take it.

Yeah the rod was in good shape, hard to tell on the reel. It was still spooled up with braided line.

For just your every day bass fishing what type of gear ratio do I want?

Got mine today in 4.9:1 and loaded it with 15 lb braid. I got it to throw jigs and DOA shrimp. I figured the low ratio would help because I have a problem working those baits too fast.

It is going to need some tweaking for sure. I couldn't cet the DOA shrimp 20 yards without nesting it. I was using a T. Allen medium action rod. I might swap it to a more limber rod for in the am. It is super smooth though.

Bump for this. They are still on sale.

I ordered one 10 days ago and just ordered two more. What a good reel and value. Used it all day yesterday wading Matagorda and it performed flawlessly. Like them better than my Curados.

I ordered one of these and haven't got to use it yet... Soon.. For just everyday bass fishing (what I do BTW) I'd go with the 6.3 to 1.

Anyone know if the 10% tax discount still applies?

I ordered one, left handed of course! I also found a good 10% off coupon that I used.
