Best ammo for deer hunting with my 30-06

It’s a 30-06 and your are hunting east Texas deer. If it will chamber and fire it will kill the shizz out of them. You are way over thinking things.

Both of these killed everything I shot with them. That being said I wouldn’t hesitate to use a pretty basic core-lokt with the 30-06 either. Nosler partition would be a good option as well.

I have killed many deer using Winchester supreme silver tips out of my 30-06 and also run them in my 270WSM. Always had a huge exit and if they don’t drop right there, it’s just a few feet away.

I have killed a lot of deer with a 30-06 using 180 gr Core-lokts, Fusion, and Federal Premium. The 30-06 I use now likes the Hornady 180 gr SSTs, and 168 gr Barnes TSX Rem Hog Hammer (which is discontinued). I haven't had a chance to shoot anything with that rifle yet so we will see how those perform on deer next season, I hope.
