Thanks all y'all. This buck has sparked a whole new type fire with hunting for me. Next mission will be to get one with my bow. But I will need to scout a lot more for the perfect bow spot. Most of the places I tried were way to open for bow hunting. It will just take time I reckon.

the only difference is I took off my vest and hat for the picture and I was sweating like crazy dragging it out to the road. He ran about 100 yards or so.

Oh and this is also the very first time I have ever taken a deer on opening weekend. That was pretty awesome in itself.

Oh it was in Sabine national forest by the way. I set my wife up across the street it was taken and I literally walked out with no camo, no blind, no scope, no scent control, just a small folding chair and an open sight 30-06. T shirt with orange vest, hat, and blue jeans.
