Good deal on a car question?

So I got a chance at maybe getting a 91 land cruiser, 125k, real clean, all functional for 7k, decent deal?

Sounds like a bargain. They run forever

I am not up to snuff on Land cruisers. I did a quick Google search and those prices are all over the place on them. Most in the price point you listed had 200K+ miles on them. A few with comparable miles were in the $20-$30K range.

Run a car fax and ask for receipts, call the place where the receipts are from to confirm. If it sound too good to be true...

                        Sounds like a deal. But . . .

                        Paper tags or real ones?

Ask him how long he has owned it, and check his ID/DL to be sure the title is in his name (not his brother, wife, cousin, auntie, etc.).

                        Look for signs of flood/water.

                        Usually Flipper = RUN AWAY

Not a great indicator of market value.

I know my way around them. I've owned 5 different Land Cruisers over the years and currently have an '84 FJ60 with a Vortec conversion. Being a '91 is probably a FJ80 with the 3F-E motor. The trucks are ******, the motor is a dog that gets terrible mileage, no power, but will run forever.

As long as it is rust free, hasn't been wrecked and the interior isn't trashed, it sounds like a good buy.

                            Ignore KBB for value numbers.

Tons of info on www.ih8mud.com That site is the authority and full of top notch people. Any LC related question you could ever think of can be answered there.

The 3fe isn't as highly sought as the later models with the 1fz-fe. And the rear end is semi-float, not full float. Full time 4wd wears out front inner axle seals on occasion, not thst hard to change just time consuming. How do i know you ask....
