I used to throw one on the truck when feeding. Now just ring it a couple times and they come running. (truck horn or a bucket of cubes/rocks does the same) Also useful in calling cows when a few get through a fence.

Theres a lot of hating going on. Maybe the guys a rancher. BUT If I saw it on a clean truck with aforementioned lift/light bars, I too would attribute it to do****baggedness Lol

It's for chevy owners. They can ring it real loud when they break down so a wrecker will come. Kind of a like a rape whistle....but different.

As a guy currently driving a Chevy, I resent that comment...

Honestly, I don't know for sure and I think its pretty dumb (unless its functional). But I've always thought it was supposed to be like the bell on the bottom of a bull (riders) rope.
