What kind of Footwear for Richland Creek WMA?

I've heard it's pretty wet there.

I'm not speaking of waterfowl hunting, maybe hogs this spring.

Are hip boots a silly idea?

Or maybe just some thigh high rubber boots?

A good, comfortable pair of rubber boots is what you will need.

It depends. When my BIL and I hunted there in 2004 it was after a lot of rain, but the unit that we were in wasn't particularly tore up. We got drawn again this year, and I'll be carrying several pair of boots both rubber and not rubber. I generally like my rubber snake boots if it isn't too cold, which it wasn't the last time we hunted there.

That is what I would go with. There are some marsh land out there, but should be not enough for the hip waders for a deer hunt. I think if you would need hip waders, the dept. would probably cancel the hunt due to high water. Been there 3 times and never had the use for waders. I just wore a pair of knee high rubber boots, which is what I wear all season long, wet or dry!!

I'd wear tall waterproof boots, and preferably snakeproof too.

i was there last wknd and i wore a pair of snakeboots and never had any issues with standing water but i did almost step on a huge cotton mouth. I'd carry a pair of rubbers just in case but you can get away with regular hunting boots.
