Canon VIXIA HF G40 Worth Keeping?

I had some reward points from a manufacturer at work that were getting ready to expire, and I had to spend them on something or I would have lost them. There wasn't much on their online catalog that I thought I needed so I tried to get something with the highest cash value for the amount of points I had.

I ended up ordering the Canon G40. I have a decent Sony Handycam now that I carry with me to film some of my hunts. I would like to get better at it and thought this camera would do better. My question is, is it that much better than the Handycam or should I sell it and keep what I have?

Reviews look good online, but I didn't really see any related to filming hunts.
