Your hybrids will control crappie. We got two 1.25 ponds that wee stocked with Catfish. Have another 3 acre and 2 acre pond with bass and and have a 3.5 acre pond that I am going to stock with crappie. So it was easy to have the big lake dedicated to trophy fish. Our lake is approx 15acres with a maximum depth of close to 40 ft.

How are you going to control the crappie in that 3.5 acre?

I may eventually relocate a few bass out of the trophy lake and turn loose. Bass eat crappie like a fat boy eats a donut.

Starting to build a dock for the pond. It will be two 12'x12' connected together, and have a 4'x12' gangway on each end.

Default Planting trees and habitat improvement.

Living the dream Brian. Nice job

Five of those trees I got from you are 5-6 foot tall now and out of their tree tubes. Hoping for acorns in 4-5 years

Ponds are built on yards of dirt moved, and because of land, $ doesn't translate to pond size. Guy down the road spent the same as me and got a 10 acre body of water where I got 2ish acres. All depends on the way the land lays out and the amount of dirt that has to be moved. But dirt work runs about $2.50/yard.

Well I'm gonna keep it going as I am improving the habitat on my 50 ac and 100 ac tracks and will need to refer to this as I go along... Thanks for the updates!

I will get some pictures tomorrow. This year has been building new fencing, livestock ponds being built this week, sprigging new hay meadow, tearing down old barns, and clearing out old fence rows..... It is never-ending.

Planted trees are growing great, as well as the fish.

This is the bass i caught couple weeks ago. 2 years old and 3.9#

Built couple more ponds for livestock and wildlife. We burst an old pond, which was above one of the new ones. That I'd why one of them already has water.

It won't show the 2 new ponds but does have the bigger pond. Red lines are the fence rows, cedars trees, and ponds removed. Blue circles are new ponds, the teal line is where I am in the process of moving the fence. Still a lot of work left on fencing.
