    Another Question for LEO's

Question for the LEO's on here. After researching Texas penal codes, my question is regarding knives. Specifically Austin area. I see the max blade length is 5 1/2 inches for carry. My question is Buck makes a 110 Hunter (3 3/4" or 4" blade), but as an auto opener. Is this legal to carry or not? What determines the difference on this and spring assisted knives?

    Thanks for the education!

    And your service!!!!!

I THINK you are looking at old law. My understanding is you can carry any size knife now except in your restricted places such as bars and sports venues. Also, autos are legal now.

Knives are no longer illegal..... mostly.

Length, number of edges, opening style and all been made legal. Kinda....

They now have “location restricted” knives which is like the old length restrictions but it is illegal only at certain places like an alcohol bar. In the general public like walking down the sidewalk or shopping at Walmart, you can carry a 24” switchblade samurai sword.
