A Graduation Gift

These were made for a friend of mine for her daughters graduation.

Wall Street Pen/Pencil set wrapped in cocobolo with a CA finish.









CA finish consists of 10 wipes of thin and 3 coats of medium. sanded with 1500 micro mesh between each coat of medium. Then wet sanded to 12000.

Those look great. Looks like your doing great on the CA. That is still the hardest part for me to do on wood pens.

Thanks for the comment, and I agree that CA is the hardest part of the process. I have been trying something new. I use 10 - 15 coats of thin CA sand with 500 abra net then 1 coat of medium. I let that set for about an hour and then sand it with 500 grit abra net. 1 more coat medium and let that set for about an hour and dry sand with 1500 micromesh. 1 last coat of medium and let it sit for about 1-2 hours. At this point I get the water out and wet sand from 1500 grit to 12000 grit micromesh. So far I am pleased with the outcome.
