I put some "slag" on ours in centerville . Then pushed it down with the dozer.
My local expert swears by the stuff.

Two of my other crossings have iron ore rip-rap underneath and crushed iron ore on top. The crusher happened to be just three miles away at that time. My last one I built with crushed concrete. This one just have to be a poboy crossing
