Portrait practice

I took these this weekend of my wife and of my brother and his wife who came and stayed last night. I bought Alien Bee 800's a couple of weeks ago and haven't had much chance to try them out until this weekend. I have 2 Vivitar 285's also and use them in conjunction with the ABs. The background is a gray mottled with a amber gel over the background flash.

Portrait photography is something I want to try. I need to look into lighting, as right now I only have the on camera flash. Great job, As I get into it I will have to ask a ton about the backgrounds

Thanks everyone. Have had some good critiques on photo forums. Got a new background in yesterday that I'm looking forward to trying and really eyeballing a softbox.
