Default South Texas Horn Growth

I have posted a few very early pics of some bucks, but here is a more comprehensive set of pics for 5-6 different bucks. Lot's of advanced early growth. I am anxious to see how they finish up this year. Most of these bucks are still a year or two away from being on the hit list. One might get taken this year.....

I also added some pics of some youngsters that should be pretty good in 3-5 yrs.

You better get to mounting some deer if you ever want to see the inside of the ranch again.....

LOL, yessa, masta!

Believe it or not, I have been looking for capes. It seems that with the lack of oilfield money last hunting season, there's a shortage of extra capes.

But the oilfield doesn't affect everyone, right?

Some of us just work harder than others (you). What about the one's that don't need capes? Chop Chop!!!!

BTW, here is your deer this year. You better hurry because I don't think he will make it much longer.

Thanks for sharing.
I noticed you have various feeder brands.

Those bucks have amazing nontypical growth.
How do you rate the range conditions compared to other years at this time of summer.?

Thanks
BP

I have about 6-7 different styles of feeders. I am not particular as long as they hold enough feed. Range conditions in my area are above average but deteriorating.

Great bucks. I'm curious if you hunt the protein feeders or do you leave them alone to allow the deer to use them as much as possible?

Most of my protein feeders are not hunted. Only one or two are directly overlooked by a blind. However, most of the protein feeders are in the immediate vicinity of a blind.

He is only 5 this year. I was really hoping he would grow big/club drops and not the smaller ones. He will likely get a pass either way this year.

Same for me. All of the bucks are amazing in their own right, but something about a monster main-frame 8 always gets me....

The West pasture has plenty. Down to 3 on the East. They better not show themselves in daylight.

It's not the velvet shirt that makes you look fat, it's your dis-proportionally long torso, that makes you look fat!

We have a buck that looks very similar to your big 8. We call him Elvis and he's also 5yo this season. He's knocked off his drops in velvet the last 2 yrs. I'm not running cameras yet but can't wait to find him.

This is a picture of him from last year.
