    1st attempt @ Arrow Building

I know there are a lot of guys on here who make some very fancy arrows. I wanted to make 1-dozen new hunting arrows for the season. This is my 1st attempt at building arrows from the shafts. I found a deal on FMJ 340s starts from Sportsman Guide ($116/dozen). Ordered the new "splatter" vanes from Bohning. I have had a Westin arrow saw in the garage for a few years and never used it until today. Ordered new Firenocks (red LED with clear nocks). I used white spray paint used to touch up appliances from Home Depot. Let it dry for 24 hours. Cut the arrows to length. Put the HIT inserts in. Assembled the Firelocks and used Arizona EZ Fletch jig to install the Blazers. These should be easy to see and find. Don't know about y'all...but I am excited about hunting season!

I don't...but would like to know. I don't have a grain scale. The scale we have smallest unit of measure is 1/10 ounces. It did not make enough to change the 10th of an ounce.

I could not leave well enough alone...after looking at all the pictures of custom crests and jigs, I ended up buying one on eBay. It is pretty slick. Anyway...I did not use paints, I used Sharpies. Turned out pretty good I think for the 1st time (I think).

Good job! Never thought of spray paint vs wraps. And honestly I liked them better all white just my opinion. Good work.

Building arrows can become addicting. I'll get bored during raining days are refletch perfectly good arrows trying new vanes or feathers.

Great looking arrows by the way!

did you spin test each arrow to make sure the inserts were in square? this has eaten my lunch more than once. have one arrow fly errant and find out it was the insert installed incorrectly.
