I talked to a guy from gainsville this weekend and he was telling me how awsome the deer hunting was around cooper/jim chapman lake out in delta/hopkins counties just east of dallas. Apparently its archery only for deer.

hmmm...I wouldn't say awesome,maybe decent.'bout like LBJ grasslands.I've hunted there a few times and only seen does.I did see some spots where the hogs had rooted up the ground.Looks like those counties you mentioned are under the antler restrictions now so maybe that will help the deer herd. -

depends on what you are looking for. few years back duck or bleed tagged out on cooper wma. probably not many huge deer but you can do good there.Comment

i have benn hunting the public land there for about 6 years now and have always seen lots of good deer....have seen i buck thta would probably push high 150'sComment
