    "Bore Sighting" a Bow

Changed my 4-pin sight for an HHA single pin, so for the fun of it, stuck my laser bore sighter in the end of a bare shaft. Nocked the arrow, turned the laser on, drew the bow and adjusted the sight so the spot was about 2 inches low on a wall about 20 feet away. Took the bow out and shot this afternoon, and was shooting 3 inches high and 1 1/2 inches right at 20 yards. Not bad for "bore sighting".

When first setting up a bow, I will center everything- center the rest, arrow to the pins etc, I tend to shoot low or high when first setting up.

That was the reason I used the laser, so I could know I could hit the target vertically. I am not the first to come up with this. There is a commercial unit that screws in the insert in place of the point, but why spend $25 for something that would not work any better than my old bore sighter?

I don't step past ten yards till I'm hitting close to my target yet either.
