    putting together my own feeders

I've never bought or spent much time looking at the different feeder motors out there, can anyone offer any advice one way or the other?

I build my own feeders and have used the timer assemblies sold by HCR Electronics http://www.hcrelectronics.com/fcu.html for the past 10 years or so and still have the same ones working great, I use the 12v.

Go with big 12 volt motors. Through trial and error we've learned that anything else is just a waste of time

Karl at Ultramatic is the go-to guy here on the Green Screen. You're in Haslet so I would also recommend going to SDH Outdoors on N. Beach in Fort Worth. http://www.sdhoutdoors.com/ Get an All Seasons feeder and pick up an Eliminator spin plate to go with it. This unit also has The Timer and is extremely reliable. I bought one 4 years ago, put their solar panel on it, stuck a battery in it and have had no worries ever since. Just make sure you cover up real good when you test it or you may put your eye out... even at 20 yards.

I've also done business with Nate at Buckstop and they are awesome! If you haven't been to their store it's worth the drive.
